Background:
Passed in December of 2017, the federal tax reform law established a new limit on the amount of state and local taxes (SALT) that can be deducted on a federal income tax return. Beginning in 2018, the itemized deduction for state and local taxes paid will be capped at $10,000 per return for single filers, head of household filers, and married taxpayers filing jointly. The cap is $5,000 for married taxpayers filing separately.

The Broncos Stadium at Mile High has a new name.

Tell me what you think of the new name for The Broncos Mile High Stadium.  The Broncos have reached a 21-year agreement with Empower Retirement to rename the team's stadium Empower Field at Mile High, the team announced Wednesday.

New Poudre School District PSD High School Middle School

This exciting new school is expected to open in the Fall of 2022 and will serve grades 6 - 12.  PSD anticipates opening the new Prospect Site Middle School/High School with grades 6 through 10 in the building. 11th grade would be added in 2023 and 12th grade would be added in 2024.

New Glade Reservoir and Galeton Reservoir Info and Videos - NISP Northern Integrated Supply Project

Below are a couple of videos with more information on the new reservoirs proposed for Northern Colorado.  The project is called NISP, or Northern Integrated Supply Project.  This is the plan from Northern Water to add a proposed 170,000 acre-feet Glade Reservoir north of Fort Collins and a proposed 45,600 acre-feet Galeton Reservoir near Ault, CO.  The Glade reservoir will be larger than Horsetooth reservoir and will be filled by the Poudre river during high flow months.  Northern Water claims the project will incorporate an array of environmental and wildlife mitigation aspects, and bring additional recreation opportunities to the region.  The project is estimated at $1.1 billion and will be providing water to nearly half a million residents by the year 2050.
